Our team is what makes Thirty Six Foods. We are strong men and women that combine international expertise with Lagos mainland passion. We are connected by our values of integrity, quality and progress. We believe in Nigeria. We believe in people. We also just love chocolate.
We are citizens of the world with a passion for Nigeria. We are inspired by the diversity in people and environment in all thirty six states. Too many negative things are said about Nigeria, we want to change the narrative by doing something good. We connect farmers and consumers by creating beautiful high quality chocolate, made from cocoa bean to chocolate bar in Surulere, Lagos.
We want to get to know you through our social media, at pop-up events and when we deliver to you. We would be happy to hear from you.
Able Women & Rokbar
Thirty Six Foods has partnered with the Able Women Multipurpose Cooperative in Cross-River State and Rokbar to bring high quality and sustainable chocolate to market both in Nigeria and The Netherlands. We are creating a chocolate bar fully made by women and produced in Nigeria. Our partnership aims to empower female cocoa farmers through access to specialty cocoa markets.
We first met the Able Women in 2016 and were inspired by their story. Over time, we have purchased some of their cocoa and fell in love with the natural fruity flavour. We have facilitated several training sessions and have put in place fermentation and drying infrastructure that will allow the cooperative to produce premium quality cocoa. In 2020, we will launch a fully made-by-women bean-to-bar chocolate in Nigeria and in The Netherlands by Rokbar.
